Meet Dr. Suzie


Dr. Suzie Le Brocq has worked in the addiction treatment field for more that 20 years with stops in Europe, North America & the South Pacific. Pioneering her career in Drug and Substance Abuse Counselling and street level care, she has trained in the UK, US and Canada. Dr. Suzie is a PhD level Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Supervisor (having supervised over 40 CSAT’S), a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT-S), a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor (CCAC) and a Canadian Clinical Supervisor – Addiction Counselling (CCS-AC).

Dr. Suzie Le Brocq is a Master Practitioner in Clinical counselling. Dr. Suzie Le Brocq is also a member of the Canadian College of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists.

Dr. Suzie Le Brocq completed her PhD in Clinical Sexology as is a Board-Certified Sex Therapist. Working in different countries has expanded her global knowledge base and provided her with exposure to many different and diverse populations, races, cultures, and treatment philosophies.

That said, she works primarily with a trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral model of therapy, focusing on the relationship between a person’s thinking, emotions, and behaviors. This is the approach that has proven most effective with addictions of all types.

Maria Enright-Castejon M.A, Adv. Dip in Humanistic Counselling, CSAT, RPC, ACTA, EMDR

Maria holds a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP), an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA). Maria is presently registered with The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA), is a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC), as well as being a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).

Maria has over 10 years of experience in Canada and the United Kingdom in a wide variety of areas within the addiction and mental health fields including: addictions and mental health counselling in both acute and ambulatory care settings, addictions and mental health counselling in residential treatment centers, intensive case management, support services for diverse populations and practice within the criminal justice system.

Maria’s focus of her counselling style is strength based, holistic and integrative approach. Maria’s theoretical approaches are drawn from a Person – Centered, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) framework.

Maria combines both her lived experience and passion for the QTBIPOC community to provide compassionate, supportive, and culturally informed care for all individuals she has the privilege of walking alongside in practice.

Maria is fluent in English and Tagalog and is happy to provide counselling services in these languages to best serve the diverse populations that she engages with. In her free time Maria enjoys spending time with her wife, family and new puppy. Maria also enjoys exploring the outdoors and connecting with nature, and attending drag shows and other events within the queer community.


Angela Eddy, BHSc, RP, CCAC, CSAT, CPTT, CCPS-C, EMDR

Angela has a Bachelor’s degree (BHSc) in Addictions Counselling from Lethbridge University and has been certified as a Sex Addition Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction (IITAP) and holds the Certified Partner and Trauma Therapist (CPTT) designation. She is also registered as a Psychotherapist, (RP) and with the Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor (CCAC). During her work with the tobacco unit in Alberta she additionally became a certified as a Tobacco Educator (CTE).

Angela believes people can lead a healthy productive and well balanced life and counts it her privilege to take to support people during their journey.


Sunday Abidogun, MA, CSAT-CMAT, CPC

 

With several years of psychotherapy experience, Sunday uses an integrative approach which includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Biopsychosocial approach to help his clients.

He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CSAT, CMAT). Sunday trained with the renowned International Institute of Addiction and Trauma Professionals (IITAP). He has conducted extensive research on sex addiction and partner trauma.

Sunday also provides therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, loss, anger management, stress management and addictive behaviours. He specializes in compulsive sexual behaviour disorder and intimate betrayal trauma. He is passionate about supporting individuals and families who are struggling with substance use disorders or addictions and other behavioural issues through employee assistance programs (EAP) and group therapy.

Sunday can also be contacted for counselling and coaching by individuals, couples, families, groups, and communities who would like to integrate their faith or values in therapy sessions.

He has travelled extensively across Africa, Europe and North America and he loves to immerse himself in the communities and cultures of the places he visited. When Sunday is not working, you will find him volunteering in his church and multicultural communities. He also enjoys, reading, listening to music, and taking road trips with his family.


Davis Wiggs, RTC, ASAT-C

Davis is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor with a Diploma in Professional Counselling. Davis also holds a certification as an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT-C).

Davis recognises that his clients can experience many hurdles within their relationships & intimate partnerships, including but not limited to; sex addiction, infidelity, compulsive pornography use, relationship & intimacy concerns and non-monogamous lifestyles.

Through a trauma-informed lens, Davis specifically helps folks navigate through those intimacy issues, relationship concerns, queer-related issues, emotional disturbances & compulsive sexual behaviours related to pornography use, infidelity, betrayal trauma & internet addiction.

Davis offers an integrative & inclusive space for clients to speak on their anxiety, shame, depression, and/or regret around their compulsive thoughts and behaviours. He specifically helps individuals and couples rebuild and navigate not just the relationship with themselves but with those around them also.

 Davis recognises that having a porn or sex addiction can disrupt your day-to-day life and potentially affect your personal & intimate relationships. Experiencing an immense amount of shame and embarrassment can be debilitating in your journey to recovery. Reaching out to a therapist can be one of the most difficult steps.

Jeff Whitehead, MSW, RCSW, CSAT

Jeff Whitehead is a Registered Clinical Social Worker from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He completed his Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees in Clinical Social Work- with an emphasis on treating mental health and addiction from the University of Calgary.

He is a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist and Multiple Addiction Therapist with the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals. For the past 10 years Jeff has worked with Alberta Health Services providing psychotherapy services to those experiencing and impacted by mental health and addiction disorders.

For the past several years Jeff has served as an Adjunct Professor, providing field education and supervision to Masters students at the University of Calgary Faculty of Social Work.

Jeff specializes in the treatment of sexual addiction, relationship issues, and concurrent mental health difficulties.


Vera Koster, MACP (Student), BA Psych. (Hons), ASAT, AMAT, CCAC, CCRC, ACTA

Vera is pursuing her Master's degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Diploma in Addiction Counselling. Vera is certified by the Canadian Addiction Counsellor Certification Federation (CACCF) as a Certified Canadian Addiction Counsellor (CCAC) and a Certified Canadian Recovery Coach (CCRC), and she is also registered with the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA).

She is an Associate Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT) as well as an Associate Multiple Addiction Therapist (AMAT) through the International Institute for Addiction and Trauma Professionals.

Vera has been working within the addiction field for over eight years and is passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to healing and recovery. Vera works from a client-centred, trauma-informed approach using primarily Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Vera draws her considerable energy and passion from her lived experiences, believing that all persons can recover with the appropriate support and care.


Kate Wyse, MACP, CCC

Kate is a Certified Canadian Psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience working in the human services field. She recently retired as the Clinical Director of a women's treatment centre for addiction and mental health.She holds a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology.

Kate’s values offer insight, empathy, and compassionate listening through supportive counselling. She works primarily from narrative and cognitive behaviour therapy modalities individually with adults. Kate works extensively with partners and is pursuing her partners Certification.
